Block paving and resin bound are the two surfaces we're asked about most. Both look smart and last well when they're laid on a proper base. The right choice comes down to how you use your drive, how it drains and the look of your house.
Block paving: tough and easy to repair
Interlocking concrete or clay blocks handle heavy use well, and a single damaged block can be lifted out and replaced. Borders and bands in a contrasting colour let you add detail. Joints need occasional re-sanding and weed treatment.
Resin bound: smooth and permeable
Natural stone mixed with clear resin gives a seamless, modern finish with no loose gravel. Because it's porous, rain drains straight through, which usually avoids the need for planning permission. It suits gentle slopes and contemporary homes.
